BGBG: Farm Safety Course

About the Program

Battleground to Breaking Ground – Farm Safety Course is designed to increase agriculture producer’s awareness of the availability and benefits of farm safety programs and resources. It is a hybrid program that provides online learning as well as in-person training to agriculture producers with or without disabilities to improve their farm safety knowledge and skills to enable them to select, operate, and maintain common agriculture equipment, implements, and tools safely. Upon completion of this course, BattleGround to Breaking Ground graduates will be certified in safe handling and operation practices for equipment in the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Equipment Loan Program.

Upon completion of this self-paced course, all participants will be provided with a certificate. BattleGround to Breaking Ground Program (BGBG, Traditional, Condensed, Skills Training Program) graduates will be certified in safe handling and operation practices and will be eligible to borrow equipment in the BattleGround to Breaking Ground Equipment Loan Program.

Locations

The Farm Safety Course is a hybrid course. This majority of this course will be completed online. There is an in-person aspect to this with training on safe operation of a tractor and implements and testing of the tractor operation and driving skills. Training can be done with a mentor of your chosing at any location. Testing will need to be coordinated. Instructions for testing are included in the course.

Program Dates

Enrollment for this course is open year round. Participants will have up to one year from enrollment to complete the course.
