About

Texas AgrAbility is a grant funded program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture – National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA – NIFA) that provides services to farmers and ranchers with disabilities, functional limitations, and chronic health conditions.

Who We Serve

  • farmers and ranchers
  • aspiring farmers and ranchers
  • family members of agriculture producers
  • farmworkers and employees of agriculture operations
  • agriculture businesses

that have a disability, chronic health condition, or limitation. Some examples include:

  • Arthritis
  • Hearing loss
  • Diabetes
  • Joint & back injuries
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • etc.

Services We Provide

  • Recommendations for assistive equipment & task modifications to make farm jobs more accessible
  • Connections to disability and agriculture support services, including Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Education & training on farm safety, injury prevention, and task modifications
  • Farm & Ranch Assessments for farmers & ranchers with disabilities & health conditions
