Participants will learn the requirements of the USDA Livestock watering grant, will learn how to operate a trencher, install PVC water lines, and witness the certification and sign off from the USDA upon completion of the class

Texas Seasonal Crop Planning

Almost every type of weather condition is experienced in Texas. It can be somewhat unpredictable resulting in crop losses. Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space has begun building their farm.

In this workshop we will discuss how to choose the best crops for the season with an emphasis on soil health for crops to produce, which crops to choose to build soil, and determining moisture needs. After class, we will go outside to learn how to plant potatoes and onions!

Introduction to Beekeeping Workshop @ HOPE Farms

The class will be 2 hours of classroom time and 1 hour of outdoor hive inspections (of live beehives). Some protective suits will be available. If you have your own suit, please bring it with you.

Space limited to 10. Veterans (and their families) have priority.

Veterans and their immediate families can attend for FREE.

Non-veteran/veteran family participant cost: $100 (bring cash or check to event)

Not recommended for young children.
