Hands-on learning opportunity where participants will learn about the basics of pastured poultry care and how to process pastured poultry. This class was developed and will be taught by our BattleGround to Breaking Ground students. Other hands-on skills to be taught are:

  • Meat Processing Options
  • Feed/nutrition requirements
  • Poultry Processing

Time 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Honey’s Acres-1350 Stoney Creek Drive, Cedar Hill, TX 75104
Cost: $50 per person (Includes 1 chicken, ice, and package) Please bring your own cooler
Limited to the first 30 participants. Additional chickens available for $20 each.

This workshop will teach individuals how to build wicking beds for vegetable production.  Wicking beds are a permaculture technique as an alternative to growing vegetables in the ground.  We will be building a wicking bed.

  • Raised Beds
  • Soil Moisture testing
  • Determining moisture needs

Join us as we demonstrate how to build cold storage in a shipping container. You will be able to utilize skills taught to build cold storage anywhere you have space!
