VegOut! Farms Farm Tour @ VegOut! Farms

Join us for a farm tour and networking event highlighting VegOut! Farms, a 21 acre farm in Pattison, Texas that produces organically and locally grown produce.  They utilize hydroponics, aquaponics, and traditional soil growing techniques to produce specialty vegetables and herbs.  VegOut! also sells to HEB and direct-to-consumer.  Come learn about their operation, how they grow their produce, how they run their operation, and ways to differentiate their farm.

Appetizers and drinks will be provided courtesy of Prairie View A&M University Cooperative Extension

Join us for a farm tour and networking event highlighting Terra Madre Farm and Agricultural Devolution. The farms are local organic farms that produce organic seasonal produce and specialty crops. They sell to the Corpus Christi farmers markets and are a member of Grow Local South Texas. Come learn about their operation, how they grow their produce, their experience with farmers markets, and personal experience being a farmer veteran and beginning farmer.

Sheep 101 Workshop @ Guadalupe County Extension Office

Join us for a FREE sheep production workshop and demonstration.

Members of the BattleGround to Breaking Ground program will be presenting on basics of sheep production along with a live demonstration.

Topics included:

  • Breed Knowledge
  • Predator & Predation
  • Pasture Management
  • Nutrition
  • Shearing & Wool Marketing

Our demonstration portion will include basic handling, drenching, ear tagging, vaccinating, hoof trimming.

 

REGISTRATION WILL BE CAPPED AT 30 PARTICIPANTS.

Cost: FREE which includes food and drinks. Register before 21 June 2019 to lock in your meals. Late registration accepted omitting meals.

 

All registered participants in attendance will be entered for a drawing for a sheep/goat milking stanchion/working stand to be given away at the end of the event.

 

Come out and support the Battle Ground to Breaking Ground program, an amazing program helping Veterans become Farmers and enlarge your network of fellow producers.

Please wear appropriate clothing including sturdy closed toe shoes and come prepared to get dirty, learn, and have fun!
